Sarah Oliver is responsible for Consortium’s Market Insights and Consulting team. In this role, Sarah and her team articulate expectations of national account employers across a variety of pressing topics and stay abreast of emerging trends and solutions in the market. Through consulting engagements, Sarah supports Blue Plans across a range of services to enhance go-to-market strategies to win and retain National Account business. Typical engagements include RFP and finalist meeting support, account management training, discount benchmarking analysis, employer segmentation, innovation, and ad hoc sales support.
In addition, Sarah serves as a national subject matter expert and resource for network strategy opportunities, working with Blue Plans to address employer priorities through network optimization. Sarah was an integral part of the national Blue High Performance NetworkSM (BlueHPNSM) development efforts, working alongside Blue Plans and BCBSA to frame external market requirements and expectations to launch this industry-leading network in 2021.
Sarah is the executive sponsor for two of Consortium’s national account committees – Market Requirements and Channel Relations. Through these roles, Sarah helps inform Blue Plan strategies to meet national account employer needs and fosters relationships with key broker and consultant partners to demonstrate Blue value.
Throughout 20-year consulting career, Sarah has provided strategic healthcare consulting support and recommendations for large employers across several industries, advising them on a wide range of topics, including strategy development and execution, vendor procurement, renewals, financial plan management, plan redesign, pricing, health management, employee engagement, and total rewards.
Before joining Consortium, Sarah was a senior healthcare consultant and served as the National Healthcare Delivery Leader for Willis Towers Watson. In this position, she was at the forefront of helping employers evaluate, implement, and operate innovative approaches to delivering care. She has experience with the evaluation and execution of network optimization strategies and solutions, including the viability of onsite health centers, high-performance networks, narrow networks, centers of excellence, direct contracting opportunities, and other value-based contracting approaches such as ACOs.
Sarah earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration in finance from the University of Iowa.
