Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey
Ed joined Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey at the end of 2011 as Director, Marketing Strategy. In this role he helped to build out new consumer and B2B marketing capabilities, including consumer segmentation and analytics, improved market intelligence, and revenue-building marketing campaigns for the Individual and Small Group segments. Ed was appoint to VP, Marketing and Product Development in 2015, and had responsibility for marketing, member experience, customer digital strategy and product development. In this role, Ed led the development of new corporate brand campaigns, annual marketing programs to support open enrollment, and led a cross-functional corporate team that helped improve Horizon’s member experience, maintaining the highest satisfaction scores among all health plans in New Hersey and achieving J. D. Power NPS scores in the top 10-20% of all health plans nationally. In 2022, Ed took on his current role, and his now focused on product development and market innovations for Horizon’s Commercial fully-insured and ASO businesses.
Prior to joining Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey, Ed worked at Procter & Gamble and GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare, where he had P&L and marketing responsibilities on major US and global brands. He received his undergraduate degrees in Film and Marketing at De La Salle University in the Philippines, and his MBA majoring in Marketing from Columbia Business School in New York City.
